Every whistle ever made owes it's existence to J Hudson & Co. Over the last 150 years, they have firmly established the ACME Whistles brand as an innovative global leader, with major patents in every decade since they invented the modern whistle.

The Metropolitan Police in the late 1800s. The captain and crew of the Titanic. The trenches of WW1. Allied forces in WW2. The 1966 World Cup. School playgrounds, major sporting events, and emergency services the world over. From deeply personal memories to some of the most important shared events in modern history, the sound of ACME Whistles is forever entangled within the fabric of our collective memory.

To communicate this powerful message and rich heritage, we produced a website with refreshed branding, a story-telling UX and niche community-driven calls-to-action. We also placed a strong focus on product, through online sales direct to consumers and through promotion of their their extensive global distribution network.

SEO has consistently delivered the strongest ROI with year-on-year revenue growth hitting highs of 490% in the first 12 months. Leveraging key shared agenda events to tell important stories, we have generated impressive results including 9.7 million targeted impacts for a 6-week TV advertising campaign, dedicated airtime on BBC evening news, and national coverage of campaigns across major titles including Express Mirror, Evening Standard, Daily Mail, BBC and many niche publications.

Creative thinking for multiple markets

Telling brand stories across Military, Sports, Country Pursuits, Pet Care, Marine, Safety and Collector markets required careful planning and lateral thinking. To promote awareness of the brand's varied offerings in multinational markets, we created a multi-layered content strategy with targeted user journeys.
